Exciting news from the museum! Samuel L. Jackson will be recognized at the 16th annual film benefit presented by Chanel at the Museum of Modern Art on Wednesday, Oct. 23 in New York City.

At 75 years old, the actor will be honored for his extensive career in over 150 films, collectively earning more at the global box office than any other actor.

This accolade adds to Jackson's impressive list of accomplishments, which includes an Academy Award nomination, an Honorary Academy Award, two Tony Awards, an Emmy Award, among others.

Rajendra Roy, MoMA's Celeste Bartos Chief Curator of Film, stated in a press release, "Samuel L. Jackson has become a significant cultural icon, capturing audiences and critics alike with his early collaborations with Spike Lee and his memorable role as the profound hitman Jules in Pulp Fiction (1994)."

"With his acting origins rooted in the New York theater scene just blocks away from MoMA, we are delighted to celebrate his remarkable achievements," Roy continued.

As part of the tribute, MoMA will present Samuel L. Jackson: A Tribute, showcasing several films from his extensive filmography, including Changing Lanes, 187, Captain Marvel, and his latest work, The Piano Lesson, at the Roy and Niuta Titus Theaters from Oct. 4 to 16.

The film benefit has been sponsored by Chanel since 2011, with past honorees including Guillermo del Toro, Penélope Cruz, George Clooney, Laura Dern, Martin Scorsese, Julianne Moore, Tom Hanks, Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, Quentin Tarantino, and more.
