Lately, rappers have been getting bad news... here we have something different.
In a highly watched trial, A$AP Rocky has been found not guilty of all charges related to a 2021 Hollywood shooting incident. A Los Angeles jury acquitted the rapper—born Rakim Mayers—on two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, marking a major victory for the artist.
The Case & Trial
The charges stemmed from a November 2021 altercation in which Terell “A$AP Relli” Ephron, a former friend, and A$AP Mob member, accused Mayers of firing a gun at him during a dispute. Ephron claimed one bullet grazed his hand, but no physical evidence—such as a gun or shell casings—was ever recovered.
Mayers’ defense argued that the firearm was a prop gun used in self-defense, while prosecutors alleged it was an intentional act of violence. The jury ultimately sided with the defense, citing insufficient evidence to support the prosecution’s claims.
Rocky’s Reaction & Rihanna’s Support
Upon hearing the not guilty verdict, an emotional A$AP Rocky thanked the jury, saying:
“Thank y’all for saving my life.”
His longtime partner, Rihanna, who attended the trial daily, was visibly moved. The couple’s two young sons, RZA and Riot, were also present for key moments, emphasizing the family’s unity throughout the legal battle.
What’s Next for A$AP Rocky?
With the trial behind him, Rocky is set to return to the spotlight:
Headlining Rolling Loud Festival in March
Co-chairing the 2025 Met Gala
Starring in Spike Lee’s upcoming film, "Highest 2 Lowest" alongside Denzel Washington
A Bigger Conversation
This acquittal not only clears A$AP Rocky’s name but also sparks broader discussions about celebrity, media scrutiny, and the justice system.
Now, as he moves forward, Rocky’s journey serves as a testament to resilience, perseverance, and the realities of fame under legal scrutiny.

Breaking News: Vice President Kamala Harris Endorsed as Democratic Nominee for 2024 by President Biden
In a significant political shift, President Joe Biden has announced his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race, endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee. This unprecedented move, marking the first such nomination change in over fifty years, has set the stage for a historic election.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) will hold a convention from August 19 to 22 in Chicago, where delegates will officially vote on the new nominee. While Harris is Biden's preferred successor, the nomination isn't guaranteed. Delegates are not automatically bound to Harris and may nominate other candidates, provided they secure the necessary support from at least 300 delegates.
DNC Chair Jaime Harrison emphasized the party's commitment to a transparent and orderly process, ensuring a united front to challenge the Republican nominee in November. This development underscores the dynamic nature of American politics and sets the stage for an intense and closely watched election season.
